Commercial corridor in Birmingham's Avondale to be redesigned

The main corridor of Avondale's commercial district in Birmingham is slated to be redesigned to improve pedestrian, cycling and vehicular circulation.

The redesign will also address parking, enhanced streetscaping as well as storm water management and flood mitigation on 41st Street between 1st and 5th Avenue South.

Regions Field to add major new attraction

The Birmingham Barons today announced a major addition to Regions Field set to open for the start of the 2017 season.

The attraction, which will formally be known as The Switchyard on 14th, will be located under the massive Birmingham sign off 14th Street South and offer a family-friendly food, beverage and outdoor game atmosphere.
